Legislative Updates: QSBS Expansion Advocacy in Action

Last week our team at QSBSrollover.com sent the letter below to Representative David Kustoff's office voicing our support for H.R. 1199, which Mr. Kustoff reintroduced to the House Ways and Means Committee this session.

We’ll also be in DC the second week of March meeting with congressional staffers in other offices as we continue to emphasize the need for expanding Section 1202 to lawmakers.

Letter to Rep. David Kustoff advocating for the expansion of IRC Section 1202.

While a version of these changes failed to make it through committee last session, we're confident that we can rally enough support to see meaningful markups this time around.

The proposed updates to Section 1202 are much needed not just for founders and investors in technology, but for main street businesses that don’t fit the “traditional” QSBS mold of C-corps raising venture equity.

We want to advocate for the expansion of QSBS so that more and more capital is retained in the hands of entrepreneurs and investors who care about American technological and industrial progress both on the coasts, and in businesses across the country.

If you'd like to join us in our work advocating for this important legislation for founders and investors, get in touch!
